Don't let the stars get you down, don't let the waves let you drown

So, visiting historical place has always been on my list every time I'm going somewhere!
This one is no difference, Benteng Barnaveld is located near residential area (casually next to it there's this coconut farm yo) and based on my own judgement, is not a popular tourist attraction.
So overlooked, few long residents of the city told me they haven't even set foot at the fort huhu.

That's why when its gate was closed, I was sort of understand, and dissapointed ;;
Come to think of it, I came at 6 PM, on a weekend after national holiday so it all made sense.
I just spend the next minutes took photos of the building. It's still in a fine condition, considering they built it in the 1500s, and it's Indonesia.
But suddenly these uncles from a house right in front of the fort brought a set of key and went inside, when I asked, he said 'boleh masuk' which means I can get inside.

He was staring at me during the photo-taking, so I think because of it he let this lucky tourist in?
.....if any of you happens to know the caretaker, please send my gratitude ;__; because they couldn't be found when I'm about to leave.

Out of my several visits to Bacan, this is the first time I attempt to wander around the area. The farthest I've ever gone to is the traditional market by the beach to buy fruits hahah.
The visit to the fort is one of the most memorable moment I had during last vacation because of serendipity after the sorrow :> you all agree that there's much more about travel behind just instagrammable photo right? Hehe.

Anyways after the whole trip, I can say that the government's work performance on East Indonesian region has improved compared to past years, especially related to tourism. Better infrastructure (more pavement instead of bumpy soil ground), more recognition for design (eye-catching huuuge sign), and so on. Hope it's not just because it was near regional head relection period haha
